BIOGRAPHY
Kathryn Rupp is a Minnesota-based soprano known for her vocal versatility, refined technique, and intimate, communicative artistry. She has appeared throughout the Twin Cities as a soloist with organizations including the Schubert Club, Source Song Festival, and the Edvard Grieg Society of Minnesota, and has been featured as a guest soloist with the Dakota Valley Symphony, Southwest Minnesota Orchestra and Prior Lake High School’s Annual Master Works Concert.
On the operatic stage, Kathryn has performed roles such as Teofane (Ottone) and Rosalinda (Die Fledermaus) with the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Additional highlights include Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel) with Savannah Voice Festival, Echo (Ariadne auf Naxos) with Berlin Opera Academy, and Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro) at Prague Summer Nights.
A passionate collaborator, Kathryn is especially drawn to art song and contemporary music and values working closely with composers and fellow musicians across genres. She is a member of the VocalEssence Ensemble Singers and serves as soprano soloist at Plymouth Congregational Church under the direction of Philip Brunelle.
Kathryn holds a Master of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Simpson College.
